This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the TextTiger AI platform and services. This policy is part of our Terms of Service. By using TextTiger AI, you agree to comply with this AUP.
We enforce this policy to protect our customers, their leads, telecommunications carriers, and the integrity of SMS and voice networks.
1. Permitted Use
TextTiger AI is designed for legitimate business communication with leads who have initiated contact with you. Permitted uses include:
- Responding to inbound SMS messages from leads who text your AI number
- Answering inbound phone calls from leads and prospects
- AI-powered lead qualification and intake conversations
- Sending appointment confirmations and follow-up messages to leads who have opted in
- Providing business information to people who contact you
2. Prohibited Content
You must not use TextTiger AI to send or facilitate messages containing:
- Spam: Unsolicited bulk messages, commercial solicitations to people who have not contacted you, or messages to purchased/scraped phone number lists
- Phishing or fraud: Messages designed to deceive recipients, steal personal information, or impersonate other businesses or individuals
- Illegal content: Anything promoting illegal activities, controlled substances (where prohibited), or unlicensed financial products
- SHAFT content: Sex/adult content, hate speech, alcohol (to minors), firearms (illegal sales), and tobacco/cannabis (where prohibited) — per carrier restrictions
- Harassment: Threatening, abusive, or intimidating messages
- Malware: Links to malicious software, phishing sites, or known harmful URLs
- Misleading sender identity: Pretending to be a government agency, law enforcement, or any entity you are not
3. Messaging Rules
3.1 Consent
All SMS messages sent through TextTiger AI must comply with consent requirements:
- Inbound-initiated: TextTiger AI responds to people who text or call your number first. This initial contact constitutes express consent for the purpose of responding to their inquiry.
- Ongoing communication: If you use TextTiger AI to send follow-up messages beyond the initial conversation, you must have express written consent from the recipient.
- Marketing messages: Any promotional or marketing content requires prior express written consent under the TCPA.
3.2 Opt-Out
You must honor all opt-out requests. TextTiger AI automatically processes the following keywords and stops messaging the sender:
- STOP
- UNSUBSCRIBE
- CANCEL
- END
- QUIT
You must not attempt to circumvent opt-out processing, re-message opted-out numbers, or remove opt-out records.
3.3 Message Frequency
- Do not send excessive messages to a single recipient
- AI conversations should be relevant and responsive, not repetitive
- Respect quiet hours (before 8am and after 9pm in the recipient's local time zone) for non-urgent messages
3.4 Required Disclosures
Messages should clearly identify your business. For ongoing automated messaging, include:
- Your business name
- How to opt out (e.g., "Reply STOP to unsubscribe")
- Message and data rates disclosure where applicable
4. Voice Call Rules
- TextTiger AI answers inbound calls only — we do not support automated outbound dialing or robocalling
- AI voice interactions must be truthful and not designed to deceive callers about the nature of the service
- Call recordings must comply with applicable state and federal recording consent laws (one-party or two-party consent depending on jurisdiction)
- You are responsible for configuring appropriate call recording disclosures if required by your jurisdiction
5. Technical Restrictions
You must not:
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, usage quotas, or plan restrictions
- Use automated tools to create multiple accounts to circumvent limits
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
- Access the Service through unauthorized means (API scraping, credential stuffing, etc.)
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure or other users' access
- Use the Service to benchmark or build a competing product
6. Industry-Specific Requirements
6.1 Legal Services
If you use TextTiger AI for a law firm or legal practice:
- AI conversations do not constitute legal advice — ensure your AI configuration includes appropriate disclaimers
- Comply with your state bar's rules on advertising and client communication
- Lead qualification responses are informational, not attorney-client communications
6.2 Healthcare
If you use TextTiger AI in a healthcare setting:
- Do not use the Service to transmit Protected Health Information (PHI) unless you have a BAA in place with TextTiger AI
- AI responses should not provide medical diagnoses or treatment recommendations
6.3 Financial Services
If you use TextTiger AI for financial services:
- Comply with all applicable SEC, FINRA, and state financial regulations
- Do not use AI to provide specific financial advice or guarantees
7. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Warning: For first-time minor violations, we will notify you and request compliance within 24 hours
- Suspension: For serious or repeated violations, messaging capabilities may be suspended while we investigate
- Termination: Severe violations (spam, fraud, illegal activity) will result in immediate account termination without refund
- Reporting: We may report illegal activity to law enforcement or regulatory agencies
Carrier complaints (spam reports from recipients) are taken seriously. Excessive carrier complaints may result in number suspension regardless of intent.
8. Reporting Violations
If you receive unwanted messages from a TextTiger AI number or believe someone is violating this policy, please report it to:

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP to reflect changes in regulations, carrier requirements, or best practices. Material changes will be communicated via email and posted on this page.
